An-Naba 78:1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ1
About what are they asking one another?
'Amma Yatasaa-aloon
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
An-Naba 78:2
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ2
About the great news -
'Anin-nabaa-il 'azeem
An-Naba 78:3
ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ3
That over which they are in disagreement.
Allazi hum feehi mukh talifoon
An-Naba 78:4
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ4
No! They are going to know.
Kallaa sa y'alamoon
An-Naba 78:5
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ5
Then, no! They are going to know.
Thumma kallaa sa y'alamoon
An-Naba 78:6
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًۭا6
Have We not made the earth a resting place?
Alam naj'alil arda mihaa da
An-Naba 78:7
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًۭا7
And the mountains as stakes?
Wal jibaala au taada
An-Naba 78:8
وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا8
And We created you in pairs
Wa khalaq naakum azwaaja
An-Naba 78:9
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًۭا9
And made your sleep [a means for] rest
Waja'alnan naumakum subata
An-Naba 78:10
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا10
And made the night as clothing
Waja'alnal laila libasa
An-Naba 78:11
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًۭا11
And made the day for livelihood
Waja'alnan nahara ma 'aasha
An-Naba 78:12
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًۭا شِدَادًۭا12
And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]
Wa banaina fauqakum sab 'an shi daada
An-Naba 78:13
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًۭا وَهَّاجًۭا13
And made [therein] a burning lamp
Waja'alna siraajaw wah haaja
An-Naba 78:14
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءًۭ ثَجَّاجًۭا14
And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water
Wa anzalna minal m'usiraati maa-an saj-jaaja
An-Naba 78:15
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّۭا وَنَبَاتًۭا15
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
Linukh rija bihee habbaw wana baata
An-Naba 78:16
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا16
And gardens of entwined growth.
Wa jan naatin alfafa
An-Naba 78:17
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًۭا17
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -
Inna yaumal-fasli kana miqaata
An-Naba 78:18
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًۭا18
The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
Yauma yun fakhu fis-soori fataa toona afwaaja
An-Naba 78:19
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًۭا19
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways
Wa futiha tis samaa-u fakaanat abwaaba
An-Naba 78:20
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا20
And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.
Wa suyyi raatil jibaalu fa kaanat saraaba
An-Naba 78:21
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًۭا21
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait
Inna jahan nama kaanat mirsaada
An-Naba 78:22
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًۭا22
For the transgressors, a place of return,
Lit taa gheena ma aaba
An-Naba 78:23
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًۭا23
In which they will remain for ages [unending].
Laa bitheena feehaa ahqaaba
An-Naba 78:24
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًۭا وَلَا شَرَابًا24
They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
Laa ya zooqoona feeha bar daw walaa sharaaba
An-Naba 78:25
إِلَّا حَمِيمًۭا وَغَسَّاقًۭا25
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -
Illa hamee maw-wa ghas saaqa
An-Naba 78:26
جَزَآءًۭ وِفَاقًا26
An appropriate recompense.
Jazaa-aw wi faaqa
An-Naba 78:27
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًۭا27
Indeed, they were not expecting an account
Innahum kaanu laa yarjoona hisaaba
An-Naba 78:28
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًۭا28
And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.
Wa kazzabu bi aayaa tina kizzaba
An-Naba 78:29
وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًۭا29
But all things We have enumerated in writing.
Wa kulla shai-in ahsai naahu kitaa ba
An-Naba 78:30
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا30
"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."
Fa zooqoo falan-nazee dakum ill-laa azaaba
An-Naba 78:31
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا31
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -
Inna lil mutta qeena mafaaza
An-Naba 78:32
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًۭا32
Gardens and grapevines
Hadaa-iqa wa a'anaa ba
An-Naba 78:33
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًۭا33
And full-breasted [companions] of equal age
Wa kaawa 'iba at raaba
An-Naba 78:34
وَكَأْسًۭا دِهَاقًۭا34
And a full cup.
Wa ka'san di haaqa
An-Naba 78:35
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًۭا35
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -
Laa yasma'oona fiha lagh waw walaa kizzaba
An-Naba 78:36
جَزَآءًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًۭا36
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,
Jazaa-am mir-rabbika ataa-an hisaaba
An-Naba 78:37
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًۭا37
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.
Rabbis samaa waati wal ardi wa maa baina humar rahmaani laa yam likoona minhu khi taaba
An-Naba 78:38
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّۭا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًۭا38
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.
Yauma yaqoo mur roohu wal malaa-ikatu saf-fal laa yata kalla moona illa man azina lahur rahmaanu wa qaala sawaaba
An-Naba 78:39
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا39
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.
Zaalikal yaumul haqqu faman shaa-at ta khaaza ill-laa rabbihi ma-aaba
An-Naba 78:40
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًۭا قَرِيبًۭا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا40
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
In naa anzar naakum azaaban qareebaiy-yauma yan zurul marr-u maa qaddamat yadaahu wa ya qoolul-kaafiru yaa lai tanee kuntu turaaba
